About TDSW Solutions
TDSW wants to revolutionize commuting. There are lots of other companies in the space, but we believe that our solution may rise above all others. Our primary purpose is not profit. As a matter of fact we plan to cap the amount of profit the company can make and be contractually obligated to give back to the community any profit that goes above this level, through reducing the costs to use the platform and/or various philanthropic initiatives.
We are defining a Corporate Social Responsibility contract that focuses on how we will contribute to society and operate in a sustainable manner:
- Environmental Responsibility: we demonstrate environmental responsibility by not adding any new cars on the roads and strictly promoting the use of ride-sharing to reduce carbon emissions.
- Ethical Responsibility: we will first be transparent and compliant with all applicable laws and regulations. Our primary goal is to promote a fair ride sharing environment where the cost of a driver sharing his rides will be extremely small (<1%). Transparency will be demanded and offered throughout all our activities starting with how we operate and ending with our end-users which will benefit from a review system that will encourage cooperation and respect.
- Economic Responsibility: we will create a number of jobs and drive economic growth in the areas where we’ll operate. These jobs will be required to maintain the platform and the compensation for these jobs will be fair with the pay ratio (ratio between the highest and lowest paying job) to be capped at 15. Yes, the CEO of the company will not be able to earn more than 15 times the lowest paid employee of TDSW.
Why We Do It
With existing transportation apps one can ask what do we hope to bring new to this space. Our solution is an app that focuses on sharing existing rides rather than adding more drivers to the road will have several benefits for both commuters and the environment. One of the primary motivations behind building such an app would be to reduce the number of cars on the road, by doubling/tripling/quadrupling the numbers of riders for the same number of cars on the roads, which would in turn reduce traffic congestion and air pollution. By encouraging people to share rides with others who are going in the same direction, the app would make better use of existing transportation resources, while also reducing the carbon footprint of each individual trip.
Another reason to build an app that focuses on sharing existing rides is to provide a more affordable and convenient transportation option for people who do not own a car or who do not want to drive themselves. By making it easier for people to find and share rides with others, the app would help to reduce transportation costs and increase access to transportation for people of all income levels. This would be particularly beneficial for people living in areas with limited public transportation options or for those who live in areas where owning a car is not practical or affordable.
Finally, this app focuses on sharing existing rides and will have benefits for the community as a whole by fostering connections and reducing social isolation. By enabling people to share rides with others who are going in the same direction, the app would provide opportunities for people to meet new people and build social connections. This could be especially valuable for people who are new to an area or who may not have a car and therefore have limited opportunities for social interaction. By promoting a culture of sharing and collaboration, the app would help to build stronger and more resilient communities.
How We Started
Meet Ovi, a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in delivering large complex programs and leading technical teams. Their journey began with a passion for building high-quality products that drive business success. With a wealth of experience in end-to-end design, requirements gathering, implementation, testing, support, deployment, and maintenance of production environments, they have honed their skills in ensuring success of high availability and reliability platforms. The idea behind the app was spawned by examining the existing options with a critical eye and a mindset of looking for better alternatives.
The U.S. Census Bureau shows the average one-way commute in the United States was 27.6 minutes in 2019. The figure does include commuting by public transportation, but that accounts for less than 5% of the total. Depending on the state, adults in the US can spend between $2,000 to $5,000 annually on transportation. Our goal is to allow a commuter to cut in half this cost by sharing most of their drives with 1.3 riders in average. Sharing a ride to one’s downtown place of work will allow participants to cut parking costs too. This seems to be a good time for a disrupting solution.
"Success is not just about the destination, but the journey you take to get there. As an entrepreneur, I will embrace every challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow. I’ll keep driving forward with persistence, passion, and innovation, and want not only to reach my goals, but to create a positive impact on the world around me. In my view, in providing a social service, the goal is not profit, but also to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. By prioritizing social good, one can not only build a successful business, but also a better world for all."
